It’s been reported that half of adults in the UK spend their New Year’s Eve dining at restaurants. Many restaurateurs rely heavily on New Year’s Eve to make that last bit of profit before the New Year begins.
So why not take advantage and see how much business New Year’s Eve can really bring you?
Here are a few tips on how to bring in customers and how to ensure that they enter the New Year with a night that they will remember..
1. Prepare For The Crowd
Make sure that you have enough seating for all your guests which will be dining at your restaurant, and as well as having enough seats this also means ensuring that you have enough staff working in order to serve and cater for the large amount of customers- making sure they are kept satisfied.
2. Train Your Staff
New Year’s Eve will be a busier night than usual for members of staff, so it’s vital that you prepare them for the influx of customers. Ask them if they have any queries, and ensure that they are able to cope with working busier shifts. You only want the most capable members of staff to be working on New Year’s Eve, so it’s important to identify who your most confident employees are.
3. Book Entertainment
Create a fun atmosphere by booking entertainment for the evening, for example; by having a DJ to play Christmas tunes & countdown to the new year. You could make it a themed evening as well, where customers have to dress a certain way. One good way to begin the evening is by giving people something for free when they walk into the establishment, such as a glass of Prosecco. Give the customers a night that they will remember, which will entice them to come back in the future.
Everybody loves a drink special- It’s New Year’s Eve and the average customer is going to want a few drinks. Make sure that you are stocked up on alcohol up and get ready for the big rush of customers during the night. You may even want to offer a complimentary glass of champagne when the clock hits midnight.
5. Spread The Word
When your restaurant is finally ready for NYE, you need to spread the word to try and entice people to dine at your establishment. So what’s the most efficient way for you to get the message out there? Social media and email marketing are the easiest, most effective and cheapest way of getting your message out to your customers. It’s a great opportunity to tell people what’s going on at your restaurant, including listing any specials that you may have.
